A Year of Progress, Resilience, and Purpose

The year 2025 was one of both challenge and resolve for the 2020 Farmers Cooperative. Despite a shifting national funding landscape and the termination or pause of several anticipated funding streams, the Cooperative remained steadfast in its mission: to strengthen farmers, build shared ownership, and expand equitable opportunities across local, regional, and global markets.

What is a Cooperative?

A cooperative (or co-op) is a business that’s owned and run by the people who use it. When you join a cooperative, you are not just buying into a business, you are gaining a team that focuses on your success.

Members of the 2020 Farmers Co-Op can buy in bulk to get better prices and deals, leverage their power to negotiate with buyers and policymakers, share knowledge and more. Our goal is to help our members level the playing field, especially for small and socially disadvantaged farmers, by giving our members the tools, confidence, and community to grow their business and protect their future.

Named for the clarity of 20/20 vision, the 2020 Farmers Co-Op was founded with a sharp, focused purpose: to champion fair and equitable marketing opportunities nationwide for small-scale, historically underserved farmers.
